About the Event

ZOOM LINK

The purpose of this event is to: 1) help Army Strategists plan for their transition into a new career; 2) introduce new information on strategist credentialing; and, 3) provide information on the ASA Transition Coaching Program.

Several recently retired strategists (Shon McCormick, Irv Oliver), an industry executive (Art Loureiro, also retired 59), and a strategy certification expert (Catherine Murillo) will present advice and information followed by Q&A.

Two of the opportunities we will highlight at the event are related and time sensitive, so we wanted to provide some information in advance.

1.  At the event we will discuss two civilian “industry” level Strategist certification programs offered through the International Association for Strategy Professionals (IASP):  "Strategic Planning Professional" (SPP) and "Strategic Management Professional" (SMP).  IASP Certification Link.

2.  We’ll also provide details on LBLStrategies’, “The Mastering Strategy: Strategic Management Performance System Certification Program,” offered in association with the George Washington University’s Center for Excellence in Public Leadership.  This program also prepares strategists to take and likely ace the two IASP certification exams.

a.  WHO: Current, former or transitioning Army strategists.

b.  WHAT: An intensive, hands-on program designed for strategy professionals.

c.  WHEN: The next “Mastering Strategy” program will run via a Live Online 10-week program from February 7 - April 11, 2023. (Tuesday, two-hour sessions, 1000-1200).

d.  WHERE:  Online.  LBLStrategies 'Mastering Strategy' Certification Program.

e.  WHY: To build skills in the management of strategy formulation, implementation and evaluation.

f.  HOW: Military members can apply for fully funded tuition to attend the LBLStrategies prep course through the ArmyIgnitED. If you have questions about navigating ArmyIgnitED and the SF-182 process you can contact Catherine Murillo of LBLStrategies at cmurillo@lblstrategies.com.  If you’re a civilian (Non-DoD employed) member of ASA and are interested in taking the course, LBLStrategies is offering a few 50% discounts for ASA members (limited). If you are interested, please contact Brian McCullough at transitions@armystrategist.org.

3.  Whether you are active duty or civilian, if you decide to take the LBLStrategies course and/or the IASP certification, we would love your feedback to help inform our greater community.
